5 Games You Might Not Have Played But Should

L.A. Noire

Rockstar Games released this gem in 2011 and a PS4 and Xbox One version was released in 2017. Although L.A. Noire never got the same reception or has the same wide spread appeal as GTA it is really good. A neo-noir detective story in 1940's Los Angeles with a great atmosphere is a slow burn but it pays off.
Platform: PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Genre: Open world, adventure, crime, action
Year: 2011

Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice

Senua's Sacrifice is not for everyone but if you have the stomach for it, it can be one of the most intensive game experience you'll ever have. Best played with headphones, in a dark room and just immersing yourself into this story about madness, love and death is both terrifying and beautiful.

Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Genre: Horror, Action, Adventure, Puzzle
Year: 2017

SOMA

Part Bioshock, part Alien Isolation, part walking simulator, SOMA is a nice game with a great story and atmosphere. I am not a fan of real walking simulators and fortunately SOMA is not all walking, although there is no combat. You mostly interact with the environment and hide from enemies. More Outlast than Gone home.

Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Mac
Genre: Horror, Adventure
Year: 2015

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I don't know how familiar people are with the Deus Ex series but in case you haven't played it Deus Ex: Human Revolution is a great game to start with. Mostly a stealth game with RPG mechanics it's a game that you can take your time with. The cyberpunk-noir setting and atmospheric music makes this well worth playing.

Platform: Windows, PS3, Xbox 360, Mac, WiiU
Genre: Stealth, Action, Adventure, Role-playing
Year: 2011

Inside

I don't play that much indie games but Inside is a really good side-scroller with great atmosphere. It's amazing how much emotion and mood it can convey without saying anything at all.

Platform: Windows, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch
Genre: Puzzle-platform, Adventure
Year: 2016
