The Walking Dead: The Video Game Season 2

By now it's pretty clear for many people that Telltale Studios are on fire. Not only have they delivered yet another superb season of their hit game The Walking Dead but also another episodic game almost as good as TWD called the Wolf Among Us. But not only that, Telltale is also working on another game, a...wait for it...Game Of Thrones....game. And were all very much excited for that, right?

But anyway, to call The Walking Dead a game is either an overstatement or an understatement. There is not that much gameplay besides from choosing what you say or do, It's more like watching a movie where you're in control what is going to happen next.

I loved the first season of The Walking Dead. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. It made you care, it made you feel, it was thrilling with a lot of suspense and it challenged you to act in very difficult situations. The anticipated second season is almost equally good except for one little thing. A thing that was more of a practical nature.

I played the first season of TWD in a matter of days. I think I played like one episode a day for five days straight. And that's the perfect way to play it. It leaves you reflecting the episode and also builds up some anticipation for the next. Making an episodic game where you release one episode at a time is great. You get to play one episode at a time and it usually ends with a cliffhanger and you have to wait a little while before you play the next one. It builds up this anticipation that you would seldom get otherwise. You really look so much forward to the next episode just to know what is going to happen next.

However the wait for a new episode can't be too long because then the anticipation wears of and you almost forget what happened in the previous episode. Telltale had some problems releasing episodes on time and the wait for some episodes were too long. That took some of the suspense away for me and the whole story felt too "chopped up" for me. I will however not let this cloud my judgement and I think I'm even going to play it thru once again, now when all the episodes are out.

But back to the actual game. There were a lot of speculation who you were going to play as in the new season but luckily it turned out to be our favorite girl Clementine the character who I think most of us came to love and care about. Clementine is now a bit older and has to get tougher and tougher to survive on her own and she is finding it hard to know who she can trust.

The story is once again excellent with a lot of tough choices to make and the game introduces a lot of new characters who you come to love and/or hate, Once again you get to feel a lot of different emotions you get to go on an adventure filled with suspense and danger and let's not forget the zombies...you get to kill a lot of zombies.

Although I love the second season it can't possible make such a huge impact on me as the first one did. It's a great game nonetheless and you should definitely play it.

9/10
