Max Payne 3
Rockstar Games took up where Remedy
left off and brought Max Payne 3, a great sequel
to two of my favorite games.
When Remedy first
launched its first Max Payne game, it was literally a game changer.
Max's signature move (when he jumps in slow motion) and bullet time
was the coolest thing ever. Also the dark film-noir style and
inspiration from detective novels got many people hooked on the game.
Max Payne 3 does not
exactly give that same feeling as the previous games (it really
tries sometimes, though) but gameplay has improved a lot and Max's
dry humor and cynicism is still there giving us a lot of funny and
dark moments. Suffice to say, the voice acting was very good.
Although this is an
action game I would have once again preferred a little more time
between shooting people. There is of course some collectibles to be
find in the game, golden weapon parts and clues, but I would have
liked more of that kind of stuff, they could have made it in to more
of a detective story with clues and puzzles and such. However if you
are the kind of gamer who only want to go straight away to killing
bad guys be prepared for some long cutscenes (that you can't
skip by the way) between your killing sprees. The cutscenes did not bother me though, and the reason they are there is for you to follow the story, right?

Don't expect to be blown away by Max Payne 3, but it is still a good action game with a good story and lots of memorable Max Payne quotes. My Rating for Max Payne 3 is 8/10
