The Last of Us: Left Behind

Yesterday, on Valentine's Day, the DLC (downloadble content) for The Last of Us called Left Behind came out on the Playstation Store. The story in Left Behind focuses on the friendship between Ellie and her friend Riley and what happened to them before the actual game. It also focuses on what happened after Joel fell and got hurt and how Ellie ran for supplies, stitched him up and took care of him.

The Last of Us was one of the biggest and best games of 2013 and just about a week ago they stole the show at the 17th annual DICE awards with 10 wins, including Game of the Year. The Last of Us was also announced IGN's 2013 Game of the Year.

So, to say the least the DLC for the Last of Us was highly anticipated and expectations where very high. How was it? you probably want to ask me and I'll tell you how it was... It was almost everything I'd hoped it would be.

Left Behind is chilling, emotional and funny, but like all good things in life it has to come to and end and in the case of Left Behind all...too...soon.

Even though Left Behind is a little short (took me about 2,5 hours to finish) it's very good. That is, if you like exploring and experiencing a game because there is not a lot of action in it. However, when there is, it is very intense and realistic. They've also managed to introduce a new game mechanic where you get to turn infected and bad guys against each other, which is a simply brilliant feature that fits the story well, in my opinion

The story in Left Behind is all about Ellie, who is a amazing character that we get to know even more this time. You just can't get enough of this lively, brave girl who's just filled with attitude and life. But Left Behind leaves you longing for more as it ends way too soon. Even though I think that is part of it's charm. A game, let a lone a story is not supposed to drag on just for the sake of it. It's supposed to be short and powerful. That is also what life is all about. You're supposed cherish the great moments and keep longing for more, that's ultimately what keeps you going. #deep
