Spec Ops: The Line (PS3)

A fitting way to describe Spec Ops: The Line is "The best game you never heard about". It tells the story of a group of soldiers in the midst of post-catastrophe Dubai, plagued by the worst sandstorms in recorded history. Their mission is to find and bring to justice the rogue soldiers that have taken the city as their own and harming the civilians still trapped there.

The game is a third person shooter where you play as Captain Walker who is part of elite Delta Force on a recon mission. The narrative first seems very straightforward but in time you start to question the mental health of the lead character, questioning what you see and hear.

The gameplay reminds me of Uncharted and is both fast paced and challenging at the same time. While he game offers little new except for a unique setting and an interesting narrative it works well and kept me engaged from start to finish.

I paid 4,95 € for a physical copy of the game and it's well worth the money. It's hard to say what it's really worth because you have to take into account that its 5 years old already. As a new game I'd say between 20-30 € would have been ok since the game is not that long.

8.5/10
